Community Level Policy Dialogue on Naira Redesign Policy

Our Approach
Project Details

The community level policy dialogue creates a safe space for citizens to share their perspectives on the rising significance of their participation in governance and policy making, learn about the discrepancies between current programme and policy approaches and actual needs on the ground, and pool their knowledge to develop more efficient policy responses and solutions that will lead to a more equitable and prosperous nation.

This edition of the community level policy dialogue brought together residents of the Rugan community in Jabi II, along Airport Road, to discuss the effects of the naira redesign policy on their livelihood.

Outcome

A deeper understanding of the rationale behind the Naira Redesign Policy was gained by the participants. In addition to publishing the participants’ experiences of the cash crunch on Development Diaries, ImpactHouse brought the issue of the disproportionate impact that new policies have on underserved and marginalised groups to the attention of the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
